Throughout the school year, the NPHS Band will be photographed and videotaped individually or as a group for promotional purposes or educational purposes. These purposes may include publications, posters, brochures, and newsletters, on the band website, community or school events, or regional television. Before your child’s photograph may be used by the NPHS Band Program you must provide permission. Please understand that this release is for individual or small group pictures.

Band Program Participation and Financial Agreement (Click the Checkbox to Acknowledge)

We agree to attend all required practices, camps, performances, and will pay all fees associated with the North Paulding High School Band Program. We understand that marching band is a co-curricular activity, which means it is related to a class but not necessary for class participation. That membership is left to the discretion of the Director of Bands. That failure to follow the Student Code of Conduct for North Paulding High School, the band program, and the Paulding School System may result in disciplinary action or dismissal from marching band without a refund. That there are no refunds. That if my child quits after July 1, they will be responsible for the full fee amount. If my fees are not paid, my student will not be able to participate in Marching Band the next year unless the payment is received.

Parent Permission for Travel (Click the Checkbox to Acknowledge)

We the parent(s)/guardian of herein after referred to as the "student", do grant permission for him/her to take all school sponsored trips associated with the North Paulding High School Band. My son/daughter understands that he/she must follow the rules, policies, and procedures of the North Paulding High School Band, North Paulding High School, and the Paulding County School System. The authorize the school to obtain through a physician of its own choice, any emergency medical care that may be necessary for the student in the course of such activities or travel.

Attendance Policy (Click the Checkbox to Acknowledge)

All events are mandatory. Complete participation in marching band earns you a year towards awards. A complete year consists of 2 or less excused absences from rehearsals, 0 unexcused absences from rehearsals, and 0 missed performances, and participation in band class fall and spring semester, excluding color guard. Students must also participate in LGPE Spring Semester (excluding color guard). Students can have up to 2 excused absences per year. These need to be approved by the Director of Bands at least 1 week in advance, preferably 1 month. Excused absences will only be granted for certain unforeseen conflicts. Excused absences include illness, death in the family, an important religious observance, and potentially other severe circumstances. Personal conflicts such as doctor’s appointments, jobs, homework, being grounded, etc. are not excused. If a student must be absent due to an unforeseen emergency such as personal illness, the student is required to communicate to the Director of Bands to inform him or her of the absence. If a student is well enough to attend class during the school day, the student is expected to attend rehearsal. Please note that documentation will be requested for all absences. Students are expected to have 0 unexcused absences from rehearsals. (Three unexcused tardies = one unexcused absence.) A missed performance automatically disqualifies a student. An unexcused absence is one that does not satisfy the requirements listed for an excused absence. An unexcused absence from a rehearsal or performance will result in the student not being allowed to perform in the next performance. An unexcused absence from a performance will result in the student forfeiting any awards that he or she would have been eligible for that year and may also alter his or her participation status in that ensemble. Multiple attendance issues may also result in an alteration of the student’s participation status. Any student who finds their participation level altered due to attendance issues or behavioral consequences will not be refunded or excused from any financial fees and responsibilities due for participation in the activities/events. Please note that students who are absent the day before a performance will be sidelined for that performance due to safety purposes and the loss of instructional time.

Senior Dues are OPTIONAL. If you do not want the senior items, you do NOT have to pay for Senior Dues. We do receive bulk discounts, so we are not able to break out items. Please make sure to check the spelling of your name, as this is what we will use for your Senior Jacket.
